Series Producer, Writer, Director

Mitchell is a veteran of the Canadian film and television industry who acted as Series Producer for 5 seasons [150 x 30min] of Food Network Canada's multiple award winning TV series, YOU GOTTA EAT HERE! and 3 seasons [52 x 30min] of EVERYDAY EXOTIC. He holds dual Canadian/UK citizenship.

In his role as a Series Producer, Mitchell has confidently liaised with and pitched ideas to network executives, talent and stakeholders; has contributed to all budgeting, researching, story producing, writing and editing, casting, branding and scheduling. He also designed and determined shooting styles, directed, supervised multiple offline edits, colour grading, audio mixes, online packaging, and written network press kits.

Over the course of his career, he has had the pleasure of working with and directing celebrity talent such as Jim Henson [Muppet Master], Jerry O’Connell [Stand By Me/Sliders/Carter], Lorne Greene [Bonanza/Battlestar Galactica/New Wilderness], boxer and civil rights activist Reuben “Hurricane” Carter, chef Roger Mooking [Heat Seekers/Man,Fire,Food/Chopped Canada]], designers Steven & Chris [Designer Guys/Design Rivals/So Chic], stylists Marc Anthony & Robert Gage, songwriter/musician Bruce Cockburn and 6X Canadian Country Guitar Player of the Year, Wendell Ferguson.

Mitchell likes cold exotic places; think Antarctica, Iceland; sailing; guitars; motorcycles; photography and cooking inventive comfort food dishes. In 2011, celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak declared Mitchell, “Central Canada’s Chilli Champion” for his Indian inspired, Slumdog Chillionaire; only to place second in the nationals against the two time reigning champ.

Currently, Mitchell is co-creator and pitching a 6 x 60min blue-collar science documentary series entitled, BIG SCIENCE and the groundbreaking 7 x 60min anthropological documentary series entiled, THE POWER OF RITUAL inspired by the upcoming book by Dr. Dimitris Xygalatas.
